A career shaped by journalism and community platforms

Originally from Bhavnagar, later based in Surat from 2020, and currently living in Vadodara — with more than two decades in media and public life.

Introduction

I am Jitendra Chandarana, originally from Bhavnagar. I moved to Surat in 2020 and am currently based in Vadodara. I have been working in the field of journalism since 1997.

Today I serve as Editor of Evergreen News India and am the founder of Lohana Book and Gujarati Vaishnav — digital platforms that help communities stay connected.

Journalism journey

  • 1997 — Stock-Finance Weekly Began as editor of Stock-Finance weekly from Bhavnagar.
  • Gujjar Praavasi Started Gujjar Praavasi, a fortnightly Gujarati magazine.
  • 2013 — Evergreen Gujarati Magazine Launched Evergreen Gujarati Magazine, later followed by Evergreen Hindi Magazine.
  • 2015 — Evergreen Today Started Evergreen Today daily newspaper.
  • Evergreen News India Continues as editor of Evergreen News and the Evergreen Media Group.

Founder of community platforms

Beyond traditional publishing, I founded digital social networks that help communities stay connected:

  • Lohana Book — an online platform for Lohana community members to connect through social, professional, and family relationships.
  • Gujarati Vaishnav — a digital platform for Vaishnav sect members across social, professional, and family networks.

Social & civic roles

Apart from this, I have also served as the President of the Social Group of Bhavnagar and as the City President of Bhavnagar Jilla Grahak Suraksha Sangh.

Political experience

In the political field, I served as the President of City (North) Assembly Constituency of the Shiv Sena political party, and later as the Bhavnagar City President.
